What is Nutrex Lipo 6 Black?
Nutrex Lipo 6 Black is marketed as an extreme fat burner with the tagline “the meanest, cruellest, fat burner we have ever created”.
It seems everything about this brand screams ‘extreme’, from the colourful description on the website, to the eerie typeface used on the bottles label warning to “Use with caution due to extreme potency”.
What Nutrex Lipo 6 Black actually is however, is a proprietary blend of Caffeine Anhydrous, Beta Phenylethylamine, Coleus Forskohlii, Citrus Aurantium, Zingerone and Yohimbine, along with several fillers and bulking agents; a combination of harsh stimulants that is, at best, controversial.
What do the Nutrex Lipo6 Black reviews look like?
Is Nutrex Lipo 6 Black effective?
Looking at Nutrex Lipo 6 Black’s ingredients respectively;
Caffeine Anhydrous is basically a strong form of natural caffeine that is believed to be absorbed by the body much fast than regular caffeine, the substance is known to cause the same types of side effects that can be expected from high doses of caffeine.
Beta-Phenylethlamine (the type used in Nutrex Lipo 6 Black) is found in various foods such as chocolate and is commonly marketed as a weight loss aid. However, studies have shown the compound has little to no effect on metabolism when swallowed (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phenethylamine).
Coleus Forskohlii is a little known herb that is thought to be an effective fat burner and stimulant. While the substance is completely natural, it is still only considered ‘possibly safe’, and since it is known to increase levels of testosterone, it is normally only recommended for healthy adult males.
Citrus Aurantium, or Bitter Orange, is essentially a legal and natural version of Ephedra. It is a highly controversial ingredient that comes with its own wealth of warnings regarding its potential side effects, which include the increased risk of stroke while taking the drug.
Zingerone, found in Ginger, is potentially a very good fat fighting ingredient; however, while countless studies have taken place into its effectiveness, very few have actually been on human beings, the majority of tests have been performed on animals, so there is little evidence to support its worth when it comes to diet pills as yet.
Yohimbine has been used to treat reduced libido and erectile dysfunction in men. It is thought to be a powerful aphrodisiac but there is little research into its fat burning potential. It is known to increase blood pressure and can cause some pretty nasty side effects when it is combined with other stimulants.
It seems that Nutrex Lipo 6 Black has the potential to be an extremely powerful and actually quite nasty stimulant. While these ingredients may well increase metabolism and help fight fat on the side, the safety of the blend on the whole is definitely worrisome.
Customer feedback on the product is reasonably positive; it is certainly an extreme energy booster when compared to other brands that make similar claims, but the reviews are still fairly mixed. While some people claim the pills really help and give results, there are others who have had nothing but side effects, with minimal weight loss.
Potential Side effects
Where do we start? Almost all of Nutrex Lipo 6 Black’s ingredients are known for causing side effects. It is almost a certainty that anyone taking this pill will experience some form of commonly associated reaction.
Typically, you can expect to feel agitated, jittery or nervous, suffer from insomnia (although the brand does recommend not taking the pills up to six hours before sleeping), headaches, nausea, increased heart rate and palpitations, as well as the possible increased risk of heart attack and stroke.
The pros for Nutrex Lipo 6 Black are pretty limited. There have been no clinical trials into the blend itself and its effectiveness. Even individually, the ingredients have had some pretty unbalanced media attention and almost all have had their safety as health supplements questioned.
The potential side effects are enough of a con to put most people of buying it.
Do we recommend it?
Nutrex Lipo 6 Black is currently not FDA approved, not clinically trialled for safety or effectiveness and not recommended for almost anyone on any medication or with any other underlying health issues.
It is a massively risky supplement to experiment with, and for the whopping $54.95 price tag we think there are far better options available which won’t put your health at risk.
Recommended Alternatives – Green Coffee
The words safe and effective are very rarely used to describe a diet supplement. One problem is that the majority of brands available today usually combine a mixture of ingredients, raising the risk of cardiovascular problems.
One natural fat burner that is showing promise is Green Coffee extract. Taken from unroasted coffee beans, it contains much less caffeine than regular coffee, yet is clinically proven to burn more fat thanks to the high levels of chlorogenic acid.
Dr Oz currently rates Green Coffee as the most effective fat burner ever discovered, causing a huge surge in interest in recent months. We decided to see what all the fuss is about and reviewed one of the most popular brands for ourselves –
