Xenadrine Review

Can the harsh stimulants used in Xenadrine cause potential side effects?

What is Xenadrine?

xenadrineDeveloped by Cytodyne Technologies of New Jersey, USA, Xenadrine is a clinically-tested weight-loss supplement which is claimed to increase energy levels and boost the metabolism leading to a subsequent reduction in weight.

What’s in the Xenadrine formula?

Active ingredients in the capsules include Vitamins C and B6 in addition to energy-boosting properties such as Caffeine Anhydrous, L Carnitine and L Theanine, Horsemint Extract, Wild Olive Leaf Extract and Cormino Extract.

The inclusion of Ephedrine which will increase adrenaline, Herbal Caffeine (from Guarana) to heighten the effects, and White Willow Bark (Aspirin) to prolong the effects of both ingredients will all add veracity to the claims of the manufacturers for their product.

Is it effective?

studiesThe manufacturers of Xenadrine have conducted their own studies into the veracity of the product; two clinically-tested groups of participants were asked to take the supplements for 8 weeks in the first study and 12 weeks in the second.

In each of the two studies a control group were given placebo tablets in order to evaluate the results against those taking the Xenadrine.

The first group lost an average of 17lbs over 8 weeks using the Xenadrine and the second group an average of 21lbs over 12 weeks; both of the placebo-control groups shed an average of 2lbs.

However, it is worth bearing in mind that none of the clinical-trials or the product information supplied by the manufacturer has been evaluated by the US Food and Drugs Agency (FDA).

Dosage

The recommended daily dosage is 1 capsule 3-times-per-day for the initial three days of the diet, rising to 2 capsules 3-times-a-day thereafter; it is stressed that no more than 6 capsules should be taken in any 24 hour period and that users must consume a minimum of 8-10 glasses of water per day.

Is Xenadrine safe?

Xenadrine claims to be free from any side-effects, offering the benefits of an appetite suppressant, a fast-acting energy and metabolism boost and the potential to experience safe and effective weight-loss.

However, the combination of Ephedrine and Herbal Caffeine has been found to cause an increase in the levels of blood glucose in the body and a depletion of potassium. These effects can cause problems for those suffering from high blood pressure or glucose intolerance.

Customer Feedback

Reviews from people who have used the supplement vary from those who find it a great way “to avoid snacking and suppress the appetite” to others who find it“makes you feel fuller and gave you tons of energy”. Unfortunately there are also a fair few instances of more negative feedback.

Customers reviewing the product on Amazon include a one male claiming he “didn’t like how taking 2 pills gave me the jitters”, and another who “had not lost 1lb in a month and asked for a refund”!

Is Xenadrine worth buying?
RATING : rating 2.5(2.5/5)

xenadrine bottleDue to the very mixed feedback on this product it is hard to give any real recommendation for this supplement.

The combination of ephedrine and caffeine can cause some stimulant-related side effects in some people, leading to a number of complaints from customers with sensitivity to these ingredients.

Another draw back for some will be the lack of any real guarantee, meaning if you don’t get the results you were expecting (or suffer from side effects) you will be unable to claim for a refund.

In our opinion there are better choices out there that will help you lose weight without the negative side effects.
